John Ro is the church planter and pastor of Gospel Life Church. His wife Wenny is a registered nurse and loves making pastries. They have two children: Micah and Madeleine.

John graduated from UCLA in 1995 and worked as a tax accountant and a teacher for six years, before he received the calling to be a pastor. He went to Westminster Seminary California and graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2005.

While serving as a pastor in Los Angeles, God placed a burden in his heart to start a church in a major metropolitan area. That is when he moved to Chicago. John did further graduate studies in Reformation church history at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL while working on the new church in downtown Chicago.

John is thankful for those who pray for this new church planting effort, and for the session of elders at Westminster Presbyterian Church who oversee this mission work in the city of Chicago.

The elders of Westminster OPC who oversee this church plant are:

  • Rev. Bob Tarullo
  • John Fry
  • Robert McKenzie
  • Tim Karr
